Syed graduated from the University of Birmingham and has since worked across both general practice and oral surgery in hospitals. He has completed extensive postgraduate training, including passing examinations of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

He has undertaken longitudinal postgraduate training in orthodontics, covering both clear aligner and fixed appliance systems, alongside advanced postgraduate training in periodontics and in restorative dentistry.

Syed is founder and director of Canine Risers, a dental education company delivering continuing professional development courses to qualified dentists, and remains actively involved in teaching. A firm believer in continuous learning, he is starting a course at the University of Cambridge this year to further his career in dental education.
