General Dentistry

General Dentistry at 33 Beaumont Street includes all routine care. Initial consultation begins with thorough and accurate diagnosis. Our aim is to preserve and enhance oral health and maintain healthy teeth and gums. To this end we source the best materials and use highly skilled dental technicians with the aim of achieving long-lasting and durable results. We continue to build on the foundations of the practice founder, Dr Malcolm Graham, who was a very skilled practitioner with exceptional standards.

The interval between routine check-ups varies greatly from individual to individual. For many an annual check-up is sufficient. If non-specialist treatment is required a follow-up appointment is usually offered within a week. Because we benefit from having specialists in different areas there is a certain amount of cross referral within the practice if the patient has complex problems.

Where necessary we can refer you to the hygienist. Hygiene appointments can be offered between check-ups.

First Appointment

After an initial examination and diagnosis, treatment options are discussed before any treatment is undertaken.

Complicated cases will be preceded by a written plan and estimate.

Fees are calculated on a personalised basis with laboratory fees added where appropriate.

Quite often recommended treatment need not all be undertaken at once but can be phased over a period of time relevant to your care, making it more affordable.

As the practice benefits from having specialists in different areas, there is a certain amount of cross referral within the practice if the patient has complex problems with require different expertise.

Anxious patients

Anxiety of dental treatment is the leading reason for non-attendance of dental care in UK. We understand that this may be due to negative experiences or outcomes from previous dental treatment, from embarrassment of your dental needs or the fear of the treatment you wish to undergo. Our clinicians and auxiliary team are highly trained in helping to manage the anxieties that patients may experience and we hope to slowly help to rebuild confidence in undergoing dental treatment.

For those patients whom are unable to undergo treatment with local anaesthesia (numbing) alone, we can organise treatment in our practice under intravenous sedation. This is provided under the care of a dedicated Anaesthetist, whilst our clinicians care for you and focus on your treatment.

For those patients for whom, typically for medical reasons, sedation may not be prescribed – we are able to organise a number of treatments under General Anaesthesia under the care of Mr Satheesh Prabhu (Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon) at the Manor Hospital.
